Who knew that in 2001 I would not only be cursed with an ISP mystified by the complexities of 10-year-old networking technology and unable to fix an email system for a month, but would find it next to imposssible to find a replacement ISP for less than twice the cost. {sigh!} I suppose that the economy is to blame....
In any case, I seem to be back online with constant minor problems instead of constant major problems. Let us hope for the best!

As I'm a newcomer to this list let me say few words:
My name is Alexandre C=E9sar Weber and I used to live in Santos - S.P. Brasil, as English isn't my first language probably I'll do lots of mistakes in my posts, so I beg all of you to forgive me and don't be afraid to correct me or ask for any clarification.
Some time ago I joined the Metalog device that Fran set up and made few questions on there, Bill answered then and suggest to put it in this list, so here I am . I was asking. and still, for any help someone could give me that link Astrology and the Geometric Solids, especially the octahedron. At that time I have described I have put in this Platonic Solid, linked to the Air in the Timaeus, with have 6 vertices, 12 edges and 8 faces the 12 sings of the Zodiac assigned to the edges, the seven planets of the ancient Astrology ( with the Sun in the center of the solid) to the vertices and to the faces : four to the seasons and four to the elements: Fire ( opposed to Winter) , Water ( opposed to Spring), Air ( opposed to Summer) and Earth ( opposed to Fall), in a manner that the face with the summer sings have the sings Cancer , Leo and Virgin, and the face assign to the Air have the Sings of Libra, Aquarius and Gemini, the others faces follow an analogous process. This kind of disposition have some notable properties, the Cardinals , the Fixed and the Mutable end in one of the tree equators of the solid. To the vertices I assigned the six planets Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, ( Sun in the center), Venus, mercury and Moon, making tree axis Saturn - Moon, Jupiter-Mercury and Mars- Venus, since the solid is symmetric in the tree dimensions if you spin a small one over a flat surface , you will see a line of light that links the vertices, as we have put the sun in the center we end up with six more edges to assign (vertices to sun) , I have used a set of six Trumps from the major arcane of the Tarot 10 - 15 (Fortune to Devil) to do this. Of course, we can't abandon the other cards of the Tarot , so we have two more sets to assign 4 to 10 and 16 to 21, the other three that remain are the dispositors ( Trumps 1, 2 and 3 ) . The way we number the faces give us tree more significant sets and we finished with 8 x3 x3 =3D72, this is a significant number in numerology and Kabala , the number of Angels or the names of God. So the Domus with its four faces , four vertices and four planets become a Sacred Place where the life could spring and go on.
In this way, we finished with seventy two Domus ( I have named it Domus, but could be any other name, like 'Loci'), with have the Sun in one Vertice and opposite one face of the solid, so six edges , four planets and four faces in each Domus .
Why did I chose Tarot cards? Because they are authentic symbols and stands by itself , on the other hand, I suspect there is a connection with them and the time ( What is Time anyway? I really like the definition to space I have found in Patrice site), if I could guess , this is the Time of the Dreams.
This briefly description may sound confuse , especially if we don't have a solid in hand, but if we consider that the solid and the cosmos are both tree dimensional the level of complexity to modelate it increase enormously .
I'm open to any kind of criticism. And I really hope we could put some order in this ideas and use,if possible, the solid as a support to organize the astrological lore in a way that give rises to a not tautology astrologic theory.
In my opinion, the Domus is , at least, a mnemonic device , with seventy two places full of symbols in a very well organized manner to work on.
Alexandre.

But what do you suggest as being the contrary of "REVISIONISM", Bill? Opportunism?
If you haven't "followed my discussions", what could I reply? Maybe then follow your own monologue, as you are "one of the major contributers here" as you say, if not The one. True that you're abundantly replying to what you understand, with (to) your own words.

Let's go on, Bill, to distribute good -- and bad -- points! But remember: Lorenzo.
Nevertheless to the question: The astrologer in the past has never been ONLY astrologer, but also scholar, and/or physician, or philosopher, or astronomer, or historian, or priest... Going on interpreting charts with the only poor "pseudo-symbolic" thought that modern astrologers are generally taking as a thought, isn't astrology, I advocate, but a part of the modern "Show", -- or the space that the Show let for "astrologers" to define as astrology. No reflection upon astrology if not correlated with a reflection upon society & culture!
